5 Tips To Step Into Your Greatness

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that "What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you".

As the new wave of Visionary and Impactful Leaders in our own worlds, I know that if you're like me, you have a fire in your belly that's ready to be ignited. May be there's a flame starting or burning already. May be it just needs a bit more fuel.

Whether you're starting a new life, a new path or a new business, it doesn't matter. It all starts from within. It's really about changing your external reality through the work of shifting your internal world.

Mindset. Yes, that's what I'm talking about.

This is about identity work. Inner work. Transformational work. But it doesn't have to be ra-ra or woo-woo. It doesn't even have to be hard.

Best part? It can be fun!

So the question is not "Is it possible?". The question is...”How do I step into my greatness?”

Here are the 5 steps;

1. An Artist’s Authenticity

To wake up your inner greatness and shine your light out into the world, first step is to be authentic. Show up as yourself to whatever experience you are in today. If you are having a bad day, then own it. If you're sad, own it. It's not permanent. It will pass. Be okay with who you are, and be okay with sharing who you are to the world. We’re all artists of life, because everything we do is a creation that starts within us and eventually manifests out into the world. Be okay with your art.

2. Giving Back

There is true value in service. No matter how small you think you are, you have the ability to give back, to your community and to the world. Giving back is consequential no matter the scale of the effort. Everyday people can make a difference with their own hands, time, and heart. Giving back is a true service and it humbles you.

3. Finding Your Purpose

Sometimes to find your purpose, you just have to get out of your own way and be a vessel to manifest who you are and why you’re here. To begin this process, think about what you would wake up and do for free. What are you drawn to and passionate about? Once you’ve figured out what you want and why you want it, the process of how to get there will come to you. Don't stress out if you haven't figured it out yet. Just start with what you have. It's about an idea leading to the next and the next which will lead to your ultimate destiny.

4. Moments of Doubt

People who are brave enough to go out into the arena and go for what they are passionate about are going to get bruised and scarred. Others, especially online, will be quick to tell you what you can’t do or what you are doing wrong. Even so, it’s better to be in the arena taking action than in the stands watching. When moments of doubt come to you, remind yourself that it’s not about you, it’s about your message. It's about planting a tree today so you can leave a legacy and someone else can sit under the shade one day.

5. Moving Past Your Blocks

If there is anything lacking in your life, or you are living in scarcity in any area of your life, you've got a block. To remove your block, find the things you are complaining about most. That is what your energy is most focused on, so it’s what you are attracting. Focusing on the negative breeds more negativity. Luckily, the opposite is also true - focusing on the positive attracts positivity. Choose to focus on happiness, community, love, and grace. Where your focus goes, your energy flows.

I know you've heard about all of these before. I know you know what you need to do next.

I'm not here to tell you what you need to do with your life but I'm here as a catalyst to remind you of your true power. None of us come here onto this earth just to exist.

There's a reason.

It took me 15 years to figure out what my purpose is. But I never gave up. Yes I got frustrated but I stuck with it.

A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. That first step is the hardest. I promise you greatness is within you but sometimes, you only find it once you come out of the other side. I promise you, it's there. Waiting for you.
